Each week Mineral Wells Church of God pastor, Jerrel Tomlin, delivers a player of the week award to a Mineral Wells Varsity football player.

For week 3, Trent Yowell was given the award.

Against Eastern Hills, Trent made several big tackles and added a sack to stifle the Highlander offense in the 2nd half.
