The Lady Ram softball team started district off strong with a 7-5 win over Stephenville Tuesday.

Cadence Colwell pitched 4 1/3 innings to claim the win, assisted by Hailey McWhorter's 2 innings, and finished with Savannah Silveus' save in 2/3 innings.

Mineral Wells started the scoring off with 2 runs in the 2nd inning. Emory Boswell and Caitlynn Colwell scored on a 2-run single by Karli Aaron.

The Yellow Jackets answered with 3 runs in the top of the 3rd.

The Lady Rams would add on 3 more in bottom of the 3rd with Cadence Colwell scoring on a Fielder's choice, and Emery Boswell and Sadie Roach scoring on Bases Loaded walks to give the Rams a 5-3 lead heading into the 4th inning.

Stephenville would score again in the 4th to close the MWHS lead to 5-4.

Karli Aaron would strike again in the bottom of the 5th with an RBI triple scoring Ayana Harrison to push the lead to 6-4.

The Bottom of the 6th was highlighted with an inside the park Homerun by Hailey McWhorter to make the lead 7-4 heading into the final inning.

Stephenville added 1 more in the top of the 7th ending the game in a 7-5 victory for the Mineral Wells Lady Rams.

The win gives the Lady Rams a 1-0 record in district.

The next game is AWAY at Brownwood Friday, March 22. The next HOME games are March 26th vs Glen Rose and at HOME again on March 29th vs Brownwood.
