Holden Hering came through big for the Rams in their 3-1 victory over West Plain HS Friday evening.
The Rams started off the scoring early with a RBI sacrifice bunt by Hayes Hering following a Curry Crouch walk, Holden Hering single, and a Hit-by-pitch by Braxton May. Leaving the Rams with an early 1-0 lead.
The lead would hold until the top of the 5th on a West Plains score on a throwing error, leaving the score tied at 1-1.
West Plains would threaten again in the top of the 6th but William Hollifield and Curry Crouch assisted in a put out at home plate while the running was attempting to steal to end the inning leaving the score at 1-1 heading into the bottom of the 6th.
In the Bottom of the 6th, Curry Crouch drew a walk leaving a runner on base. Holden Hering was the next batter to come up and launched a "moon shot" over dead center field to put the Rams up 3-1.
Hollifield finished out the game allowing no runs to give the Rams a 3-1 victory which secured their spot in the Regional Final.
Holden Hering pitched 6 2/3 innings with 10 Ks and 1 ER. Hollifield claims the win with 1 1/3 IP and 0 ER.
The Rams will play in a 3 game series vs Seminole High School on Thursday and Saturday. The schedule is as follows:
