Our Student trainers at Mineral Wells ISD traveled to the North Texas Athletic Trainers Society (NTATS) Student Symposium on Saturday.

Our young ladies were able to participate in several events and learning labs throughout the day.

MWHS Athletic Trainers are beyond proud of our students' growth, attitude and performance this year and it showed at NTATS.

The day began at 5:00 AM as they loaded the bus for our 2 hour trip through a continuous thunderstorm.

When we arrived at Melissa High School, the competitions began almost immediately for all 30+ schools in attendance.

During the Ankle taping contest, Kiera Davis and Asiah Moten both made the finals.

The next team competition was the Randy Stipes Relay Race which involved a Thumb Spica tape, Crutch fitting, ankle brace fitting and a shoulder spica wrap. All 8 students participated in the relay race and qualified for the finals. In finals, these young ladies pulled out a commanding victory!

The medical kit scavenger hunt included 4 of our students digging through an unfamiliar medical bag searching for items. We finished in a close 3rd in our heat.

The final event of the day was our National Athletic Training Month poster contest. The team worked on the poster with their ideas and creativity throughout the entire month of March. The theme for 2025 was Champions in Healthcare. As a team, we finished 3rd in the poster contest.

Congratulations to these young ladies with their 2nd place overall finish at NTATS!
